Teaching Calm: An Educator’s Workshop for Sharing Yoga & Mindfulness with Kids & Teens with Ana Herning & Emily Sullivan
Sunday, November 2
12:30-3:30pm • South End & Livestream
Have you ever played Yogi Says or tried a bumblebee breath? Research continues to show that mindfulness and yoga help children focus attention, manage stress, and navigate their emotions—supporting healthy development from an early age.
In this workshop, we’ll invite you into the joyful, imaginative world of children’s yoga, sharing the tools you need to feel confident planning, adapting, and teaching yoga and mindfulness to kids and teens at home, in the classroom, or in a studio setting.
This workshop will be co-taught by Emily Sullivan, Down Under’s Director of Kid’s and Prenatal Yoga, parent, and massage therapist, and Ana Herning, a medical student with experience in pediatric mental health and working with youth in the foster system.
This workshop is ideal for parents, educators, and seasoned yoga teachers who want to adapt their practice for younger audiences or integrate social-emotional learning into their teaching.
Cost: $50
Please bring a yoga mat (rentals are available for $3 at the studio)
***For livestream participants: a Zoom invitation email will go out to pre-registered students 1 hour before the class. Please make sure we have the correct email address on file for you so you receive your invitation! Contact the studio at 617.566.9642 with any questions.***
