THE FLOW

  • Powerful, sweaty and ablaze with tempo, explore your edge in 90+ degree heat and humidity. Opening out of the gates with sun salutes and all the major standing poses, expect a full array of asana including backbends, twists, core, at a vigorous pace.

  • Creative, vigorous, and fluid sequences, curated with an intentional anatomical or philosophical focus, explore the rhythm of body and breath. Perfect for those who like to move, expect a moderate to fast pace with the potential for more challenging asanas, backbends, arm balances, or inversions.

  • Foundations teaches the basics of yoga poses and breathing techniques. The class is moderately paced to cultivate strength, flexibility, and balance within a gentle, continuous sequence of postures. Foundations is designed for beginning and intermediate students eager to deepen your understanding and experience of yoga.

  • Carrying the best qualities from several historic asana traditions, and shedding the worst, Down Under's version of Hot 26 offers a dynamic empowering sequence without sun salutations or weight-bearing on the wrists. This sequence is designed to mobilize every joint, tone your digestive system, quieten anxiety and remove toxins through sweat.

Vinyasa

Delight in fluid, dynamic sequences flowing from one pose to the next, curated intentionally to master challenging poses that rinse you from inside out.

THE RITUAL

  • Mysore is different from a standard 'led' yoga class (where students are instructed in unison together). The Mysore room is quiet: it's filled with breath and uses demonstration, concise one-on-one instruction, minimal talk, and adjustments to convey knowledge. You'll see practitioners doing the Ashtanga series at their own pace, beginning with sun salutations and adding poses when the teacher sees that they are ready to progress. The teacher circulates through the room, offering assists, modifications, and individualized recommendations for each student's practice in their own time.

  • Led Primary Series is an intermediate class taught together with the sanskrit count for the vinyasa. This class is for those who have practiced the primary series before or are new to the Mysore practice.

Students will be guided through the practice, but are responsible for knowing how to modify postures if necessary. The flow is vigorous and energizing and includes seated forward bends, backbends, and inversions. This class is part of the Mysore series, but open to drop-ins.

  • The original vinyasa, Ashtanga Flow is a joyful, energizing practice that builds strength and flexibility while bringing quiet to the mind. You will see many of the poses and transitions we practice in our Ashtanga primary series/Mysore classes, remixed in a playful, more free-form setting.

The practice is relatively fast-paced, linking breath and movement in a vigorous sequence of yoga asana designed to bring awareness of the subtle energetic and spiritual realms of existence through physical opening.

Ashtanga

Commit to the challenge of Ashtanga’s set sequence designed to cleanse and purify the body by creating internal heat. Mysore teachers give individualized instructions adding new poses to your practice as you gain stamina, flexibility, and focus.

  • Perfect for beginners and those wanting to refresh their understanding of fundamental poses. Students will learn basic standing, seated, twisted, back bending and beginner inverted poses, including shoulder stand, at a modest pace, learning how to use the props as needed.

  • A transitional class for those with regular Level 1 experience. Students should be comfortable with setting up and getting into shoulder stand.

  • For seasoned students comfortable with inversions. Students develop strength and refinement in all asanas including inversions, back-bends, and arm balances. Regular yoga practice is assumed.

  • Using the resistance and gravity-defying assistance of wall ropes lengthens and deepens your asana practice. Yoga Kurunta (‘yoga puppet’) is open to all levels, but not for those brand new to any yoga.

  • The Iyengar methodology has a longstanding tradition of seasonal registration series classes. Students experience the depth that comes from learning under a teacher year-round, cultivating a shared language, experience, and consistent class environment.
