Introduction to Yoga for Back Care with Rosie Richardson

Many people come to yoga for relief of back pain, whether it’s as minor as neck or lower back tension or more major as in sciatica, spinal stenosis, scoliosis or a herniated disc. Done with correct emphasis, both classical and modified yoga asana can be particularly beneficial.

In this Introduction to Yoga for Back Care session, we will review key anatomy, learn the connection to spinal balance and health, and explore and practice modified and classical yoga poses to explore how asana can address common back conditions.

Required Props: a mat, 1 bolster, 2 belts, 3 blankets, a yoga chair, 2-3 blocks and a free wall.
