How To: Lotus Pose with Elliott McEldowney
Saturday, October 17
1:30-3:30pm • Porter Square
Lotus is one of those poses people often think of as defining what YOGA is. It looks fancy. It looks hard. It looks like it hurts. And it’s definitely a pose that asks a lot — particularly of the hips.
In this vinyasa flow workshop, Elliott will break down Lotus (Padmasana) through thoughtful preparation, variations, and modifications designed to respect the knees while exploring the mobility the pose requires. You’ll move through a progressive practice focused on opening the hips and understanding how the pieces of Lotus come together — without making the final shape the goal.
Whether Lotus is already part of your practice or nowhere near accessible today, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of the pose, intelligent ways to modify it, and practices you can continue working with at home.
Cost: $55
Please bring a yoga mat (rentals are available for $3 at the studio)
