Arm Balances: Strength, Stability & Focus with Didi von Deck
Saturday, June 27
12-2pm • Central Sq & Livestream
Sthira Bhaga, often translated as “sublime steadiness,” is the Sanskrit name for the Advanced A series of Ashtanga Yoga — a practice that explores the balance between strength, focus, and ease.
In this workshop, we’ll explore a range of arm balances drawn from this tradition, emphasizing that true stability arises not from force alone, but from breath, presence, and intelligent action.
Through guided preparation, participants will work with foundational strength, alignment, and technique, along with accessible variations and progressions to support a range of experience levels.
We’ll explore postures including Vasisthasana, Vishvamistrasana, Urdhva Kukkutasana, Galavasana, Eka Pada Bakasana, Koundinyasana, and Ashtavakrasana, with a focus on building confidence, clarity, and control.
This workshop is designed to help you approach arm balances with greater understanding, patience, and a sense of possibility.
Cost: $45
Please bring a yoga mat (rentals are available for $3 at the studio)
