SACHA SERGENT
FITNESS FACULTY
Sacha is a Clinical Research Associate and Medical Writer at Prime Medicine, a gene editing biotech company in Cambridge. With a degree in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northeastern University, Sacha will be starting medical school at Boston University this fall. Her professional journey reflects a deep commitment to science and medicine, with a passion for learning and helping others through both fitness and health.
Sachaβs introduction to movement began in 2010 when she started practicing Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu, training for a decade and competing nationally. During her time as a teacher at KO Martial Arts, she developed a fascination with her students' unique learning styles and the mental health benefits of martial arts. This led her to become a kickboxing instructor in college, where she taught over 300 classes while exploring a variety of fitness disciplines like strength and conditioning, interval training, dance, TRX, kettlebell, barre, and spin. Through these experiences, Sacha discovered that fitness should be fun and engaging, which she believes is key to sustaining a healthy body and mind.
Sachaβs teaching style draws from her background in traditional martial arts and her scientific interest in anatomy and movement. She emphasizes purpose behind each movement sequence, structural understanding, and the strength found in challenging oneself. Her classes are dynamic and upbeat, often accompanied by fun, themed playlists (Taylor Swift, 2000s throwbacks, Barbie, etc.). Whether in strength and conditioning (S&C), HIIT, or Barre, students can expect full-body workouts, pyramid-style intervals, and rhythm-based movements with a focus on building strength and endurance.
What Sacha hopes for her students is simple: to leave class feeling stronger and more accomplished, having gained exactly what they needed for the dayβwhether thatβs completing the class, trying something new, or challenging themselves to push beyond their comfort zones.
Outside of the studio, Sachaβs interests are just as diverse. Originally from France, she returns every year to visit family and indulge in her love of cooking and baking French cuisine (crepes, madeleines, Paris Brest, and bourguignon are just a few of her specialties). She enjoys exploring Boston, taking long walks, learning to rollerblade, and indulging in hobbies like reading and bead embroidery.
Sachaβs combination of martial arts discipline, fitness passion, and love for health and wellness make her a dynamic teacher, always striving to help her students grow physically, mentally, and emotionally.
