Rika apprenticed with Dr. Tatetsu who she credits with teaching her about the physical manipulation of the body’s muscle tissues and how to master powerful, deep tissue massage that has become her signature bodywork.

Rika married a US Marine and moved to the United States, bringing her decades of therapeutic massage experience to the East Coast and acquiring her American LMT license through Everest College. Rika’s shy and gentle manner belies a strength and intelligence about the body that is unparalleled. Her work is grounded in genuine love for helping the people she works with, including Down Under Director Justine, who has worked with Rika for years. When you meet Rika, she will ask if you want a full-body or focused session and whether you have specific problem areas. When you are on the table, she will also ask about levels of pressure (since she can do Swedish light pressure, but she specializes in deep tissue and acupressure points).
