NIKI BHATIA
PILATES FACULTY
With a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Niki spent a decade as a mine rehabilitation and environmental compliance specialist in Melbourne, Australia, overseeing complex projects across mine sites, alumina refineries, and contaminated land facilities. Her background in systems thinking, precision, and analytical problem-solving continues to inform the technical rigor she brings to every aspect of her teaching.
Her relationship with Pilates began through her mother's recovery. After years of spinal injuries and unsuccessful treatments, her mother discovered reformer Pilates in 2024 and found, for the first time, a form of physical rehabilitation that genuinely helped her heal. Witnessing that transformation was pivotal, inspiring Niki to leave a decade-long engineering career and dedicate herself to supporting others on their physical health journeys, with a particular mission to encourage more Indian women to invest in their strength and wellbeing.
Niki is certified through the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI), a credential recognized in over 24 countries. Since transitioning into teaching, she has worked closely alongside physical therapists to develop individualized programs for clients managing conditions including Osteoporosis, Scoliosis, Diastasis Recti, and post-surgical recovery. The analytical discipline that defined her engineering career now informs her study of anatomy and movement, allowing her to translate complex biomechanics into precise, accessible instruction for clients at every level.
Her classes are strength-focused and technically grounded, emphasizing neutral spine, intentional form, and safe progressive movement. She cultivates an inclusive, unhurried environment set to gentle music, where clients are met exactly where they are and leave feeling both challenged and restored.
Outside the studio, Niki has traveled to over 26 countries and lived across three continents, a pattern she intends to continue. She is an avid paddleboarder, pickleball enthusiast, and outdoor adventurer, and finds creative expression through acrylic painting and dancing to Bollywood and Latin music.
