LAURA BARAJAS
FITNESS FACULTY
Laura brings a uniquely interdisciplinary perspective to movement, shaped by a background that bridges the arts and global operations. She holds a degree in Fine Arts in Sculpture and Interdisciplinary Media from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where her work explored the parallels between human behavior and natural systems through research in biomimicry, astronomy, and behavioral studies. Following graduation, she built a career in operations and strategic programming across venture capital, biotech, and Web3, producing international conferences and convenings across the globe.
Her relationship with movement began early through dance, which has remained a constant throughout her life. She transitioned into teaching over a decade ago, first through barre and later expanding into personal training and group fitness. With over fifteen years of experience, her approach has evolved through both her movement background and time spent outside the industry, ultimately returning with a renewed focus on low-impact, high-intensity, and functional training. She is currently completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training.
Her teaching is defined by a precise and thoughtful attention to detail, grounded in alignment, technique, and injury prevention. She emphasizes a deeper understanding of both how and why the body moves, guiding students to build strength with intention while integrating breath and awareness into each practice. Her classes are designed not simply to challenge, but to cultivate a more intelligent and sustainable relationship to movement.
Laura hopes students leave feeling both empowered and informed, with a greater capacity to listen to their bodies and navigate the balance between effort and ease. With a particular interest in functional strength, longevity, and the interconnected nature of movement, breath, and mindset, her work supports a practice that extends well beyond the studio.
Outside of teaching, she remains an active artist, creating both functional design pieces and wearable work, alongside a continued practice of drawing. Her creative sensibility extends into her love of cooking and curating experiences. She also shares her life with her dog, MoMo, her longtime travel companion of over a decade, with whom she has explored cities and landscapes across Europe, Central and South America, Asia, and the United States.
