JEN ALDER
VINYASA FACULTY
LEAD TEACHER
Jen first came to yoga through a running injury with no expectation that the practice would resonate so deeply — but after her very first class, she found herself unexpectedly emotional in savasana, reconnecting to her body in a way she hadn’t experienced in a long time. What began as a physical practice quickly evolved into a lifelong passion for yoga and teaching.
Originally trained as a high school teacher, Jen holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and Secondary Education from Purdue University. She completed both her 200-hour and 500-hour certifications with the Baptiste Institute between 2012–2018 and has been teaching yoga for over 14 years. Jen is an E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance and has completed extensive advanced training through Baptiste Yoga, including Levels 1, 2, and 3, Art of Assisting, Advanced Art of Assisting, and the Apprentice Program. She has also facilitated and co-facilitated teacher trainings across the country.
In addition to her yoga training, Jen completed certification in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through Brown University and is also a certified end-of-life doula through the University of Vermont, reflecting her deep interest in mindfulness, connection, and compassionate care.
Outside the studio, Jen is a proud mom of three grown children living across the country. She loves reading, traveling, exploring new places, and fully embraces the fact that Whole Foods makes better sourdough than she ever could. She’s also fairly certain she missed her true calling as a backup dancer for Taylor Swift.
