IVYANA ROBINSON

FITNESS FACULTY

Ivyana Robinson (Ivy) is a professional dance artist and certified Pilates instructor with over 20 years of experience in movement and performance. She holds a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, where she cultivated her passion for both dancing and choreographing. Ivyana’s artistic career spans live performance, music videos, and commercials, as well as creative work in choreography, directing, filmmaking, and movement education.

Her Pilates journey began during her college dance training, where she first experienced the transformative effects of the method on her body. Years later, during a more introspective season of life, Ivyana turned to Pilates once again—this time as a way to stay grounded, both physically and mentally. Teaching Pilates became more than a profession; it became a mission to help others reconnect with themselves, regain confidence, and rediscover their inner strength through movement.

At the beginning of 2025, Ivyana completed a 20-week comprehensive Matwork and Reformer certification through Breathe Education. In her first year and a half of teaching, she has found the greatest fulfillment in witnessing her students’ breakthroughs—those moments of effort, sweat, and satisfaction when they realize they’re stronger than they thought.

In the studio, Ivyana teaches from the foundation of the original Contrology Pilates Mat method, enhanced with a modern, layered approach that meets clients where they are. Her classes start with accessible foundations and progressively build challenges in strength, balance, coordination, and flexibility. Whether working with beginners, prenatal/postnatal clients (following ACOG guidelines), or those returning from injury with medical clearance, Ivyana creates a space where every body feels supported, seen, and empowered.

What she hopes students take away from her class is simple yet powerful:

Strength is your confidence. The discipline built on the mat carries into everyday life—every time a student pushes past fear, fatigue, or self-doubt, they’re reminded of their capability, resilience, and right to reclaim their body through intentional movement.

Beyond the studio, Ivyana is a wise, creative, and nurturing soul. Her strength and groundedness are deeply shaped by the love and support of her mother, family, and friends. She continues to create through dance and filmmaking, and she shares a deep connection with animals—especially her beloved cats—which has become another source of community and joy for those around her.
