DAN COPELAND

VINYASA FACULTY

Dan’s teaching brings together a deep interest in anatomy, alignment, and the science of human performance. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University and MIT, respectively, as well as a medical degree from Tufts University. Outside the studio, he works at WHOOP, translating health technology into clinically meaningful insights that support members’ well-being.

Dan began practicing yoga in 2020 while navigating the demands of medical school clinical rotations. What began as a way to support his physical well-being quickly became an essential practice for managing stress and cultivating resilience. He completed his 200-hour teacher training with CorePower Yoga, where he also began teaching.

Grounded in breath, alignment, and purposeful movement, Dan’s classes balance physical intensity with thoughtful anatomical instruction. He views challenging postures as opportunities to cultivate presence, navigate discomfort, and develop a steadier relationship with both body and mind. His goal is for students to leave feeling physically challenged yet mentally calm, with a renewed sense of confidence in their capacity to meet difficulty.

Dan is particularly interested in the intersection of yoga, physiology, mental health, and stress resilience. Outside the studio, he enjoys spending time with his wife, young son, and dog, Millie. An avid reader and chess enthusiast, he also loves cooking for friends, exploring the outdoors, and working with his hands to build and repair things.
