CLAIRE HUNTER
FITNESS FACULTY
Claire brings together a background in yoga, strength training, and corrective exercise, with a teaching philosophy grounded in alignment, purposeful movement, and sustainable strength. A certified personal trainer for over a decade, she began her career working with clients in Baltimore, eventually leading a personal training team before establishing her own independent practice. Her work has focused on helping people build confidence, manage pain, and transition from physical therapy to the gym with greater strength and mobility.
With a BS in Human Services and Communications, Claire has also worked in radio and financial copywriting, while maintaining a longstanding connection to the yoga and fitness communities. Her movement practice is informed by more than 15 years of yoga, including early studies in Iyengar yoga. She brings this emphasis on alignment into both strength and conditioning and yoga, pairing thoughtful technique with opportunities to explore greater intensity.
After relocating to Boston and becoming a mother, Claire found her way back to teaching through Down Under, where mentorship with faculty member Wendy Rue Williams helped her rebuild strength and reconnect with her teaching voice. She is particularly passionate about postpartum fitness, advocating for an approach that prioritizes recovery, confidence, and well-being over the pressure to “bounce back.” Her additional certifications include behavior change, fitness nutrition, stretching and flexibility, and corrective exercise.
Outside the studio, Claire enjoys the outdoors with her family, from beach days and summer fishing to hiking and cold-water dips beneath Vermont waterfalls. A full-time mother to a young child, she also loves live music and quiet evenings by the fire with her husband.
