BRANDON McCRORY-JOSEPH
PILATES FACULTY
Brandon began his journey in movement studying Dance Performance at Rhode Island College, where he had the honor of becoming the first dancer in the country to receive the Lin-Manuel Miranda Scholarship for Dance and Choreography. His early foundation in performance, discipline, and artistry continues to inform the depth and presence of his teaching.
Following his undergraduate studies, Brandon pursued academia, serving as an adjunct professor in Dance Performance and Choreography at Dean College and Boston University. Eager to deepen his knowledge of kinesiology and anatomy, he developed and taught an injury prevention course for Boston University’s summer dance intensive in 2020, blending science with embodied experience.
In 2022, after a personal 50-pound weight loss journey, Brandon sought a deeper connection to his body in motion and began his Pilates training at Boston Body Pilates. He earned his Reformer and Mat certifications through Balanced Body and continues to expand his work in body alignment, injury prevention, and strength training.
Brandon’s classes range from corrective and foundational work to athletic-influenced movement. Drawing from his background in dance and education, he is attentive to precision, alignment, and performance longevity. His goal is to enhance each client’s movement capacity, whether that means walking with greater ease, running with efficiency, or training at a professional level in dance, gymnastics, or weightlifting.
He teaches with clarity, intention, and an understanding that strength and artistry are not separate pursuits, but deeply connected expressions of intelligent movement.
