ABBIE COHEN

VINYASA FACULTY

Abbie considers herself as a forever student and teacher. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Tufts University, a Master’s degree in Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a PhD in Education from UCLA’s School of Education and Information Studies. In addition to teaching yoga across Cambridge and Boston, she is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Education at Colby College, where she teaches undergraduate courses.

Yoga has been her constant through periods of travel, professional transitions, and self-discovery. She completed her 200-hour training in 2020 at Prana Power Yoga and recently completed her 300-hour training with Down Under Yoga.

Pranayama is the guiding force in Abbie’s teaching, weaving breath together with the unique structural and alignment needs of each body. Through intelligent cueing, assisted touch, and an element of play, she creates an environment that is both rigorous and welcoming. She teaches with both depth and range, offering vinyasa (heated and unheated), restorative, yin, and pre- and post-natal practices, and finds joy in meeting students exactly where they are each day.

Outside the studio, she can often be found outdoors, spending time with family and friends, traveling to new places, or enjoying a quiet moment in the sunshine with a good book.
