MICHAEL KISTOGLOU
VINYASA FACULTY
Michael Kistoglou is a Boston-born Master Hot Power teacher with more than a decade of experience and thousands of teaching hours in Boston and beyond.
Known for his vigorous, energizing teaching style, Michael brings a dynamic presence to every class. His sequencing is powerful and intelligently crafted, but it is his dialogue that most distinguishes his teaching—clear, rhythmic, and purpose-driven throughout the challenge of practice. Michael’s ability to weave anatomy, breath cues, and motivational coaching into a seamless flow creates an atmosphere where students feel both challenged and deeply supported. His classes are often described as powerful, uplifting, and exacting in the best possible way, with students often repeating his concepts such as “When the mind becomes calm, your whole being can go deeper.”
Guided by the principle Sthira Sukham Asanam—the union of steadiness and ease—Michael leads grounded, challenging hot power classes that safely bring students to their mind–body edge while cultivating calm, uninterrupted breath. His teaching integrates physical rigor with the philosophical depth of the Yoga Sutra, creating a practice that is both centering and transformative.
Trained under Jacqui Bonwell and Rolf Gates, Michael deepened his studies on dynamic sequencing with Jonny Kest, anatomy and physiology with Alex Amorosi and David Vendetti, and advanced assisting with Masaaki Okamura. A Lululemon Legacy Ambassador, Michael also drawing deeply from the influence and foundational teaching of mentor Roman Szpond.
