AWARENESS THROUGH MOVEMENT

"The only thing permanent about our behaviour patterns is our belief that they are so."
–Moshe Feldenkrais

Feldenkrais group classes are known as Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) lessons. Similar to Tai Chi or gentle yoga, Awareness Through Movement classes use slow, mindful movements to achieve powerful effects in terms of strength, flexibility, and holistic integration of body and mind.

Group Classes

Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement® classes will help you expand the boundaries of what is possible by using the body-mind connection to improve and fine-tune how you move.

Classes are composed of gentle movements done with directed attention that will increase ease of movement, flexibility, and coordination while reducing any discomfort or pain that may be present. Based on principles of physics, biomechanics, human development, and learning, this class will help you release restrictions that may be holding you back physically as well as mentally.

Functional Integration

Private Functional Integration can supplement group Awareness through Movement classes or be done on their own.

Feldenkrais® private sessions are known as Functional Integration® (FI®) lessons. The teacher guides an individual student in movement lessons using gentle, non-invasive touch as the primary means of communication.

Each Functional Integration lesson relates to a desire, intention, or need of the student. The learning process is carried out without the use of any invasive or forceful procedures. The lesson is developed, specifically for the student, custom-tailored to the unique circumstances of that particular person, at that particular moment.
