EVAN KENNY

RESTORATIVE FACULTY

Evan is a world traveler, spiritual leader, and trusted steward of sacred medicines. As a former Navy SAR swimmer, alpine first responder, and wildland firefighter, he is intimately acquainted with navigating fear and transcending limitations. Years spent backpacking abroad, studying life, religions, and purpose across cultures, have shaped his perspectives and translate into each of his classes.

A passionate ceremonialist, breathwork facilitator, and retreat host, Evan’s arrival into the practice began after the rigors of his prior service resulted in severe disability. Encouraged by a physical therapist to try yoga, he not only regained full mobility but also discovered a profound new path of healing and self-realization. Like many who uncover the illuminating capacity of a dedicated practice, he was captivated.

After training with some of Down Under’s best, Ashtanga with Elliott McEldowney and Didi Von Deck, and Breathwork with David Magone, he was driven to deepen his practice and took his education on the road. Setting out on a spiritual quest to India, he received tutelage from Saraswathi Jois and RCP in Mysore, and explored Kundalini and Vedic Astrology with Dr. Gaurav Agrawal in Rishikesh. His subsequent wayfaring serendipitously resulted in a meeting with the Dalai Lama and a successful summit of Mount Everest. Upon returning to Boston he was guided to Yin, where he incorporated the way of water as delivered by Emily Peterson.

Evan’s teaching style is a harmonious fusion of the many lineages and traditions he’s had the privilege to learn from — weaving moments of heat into cool calmness and revealing pockets of stillness within the storm. Within his offerings, his ambition is aimed at reconnecting humanity to innate wisdom and forging mind-body-soul experiences that invokes one into their infinite ‘Now’.

Currently pursuing studies in Behavioral Neuroscience, Evan seeks to collaboratively architect the bridge between science and spirituality by aligning ancient practices with modern understandings. When not actively engaged in academia or esoteric endeavors, he’ll be immersed in nature, often snowboarding, scuba diving, or walking barefoot among the trees.
