Ayurvedic Avocado Mousse Recipe
by Kim Rioux
Whether you’re looking for a healthy dessert or a mindful moment of indulgence, this mousse will satisfy your senses and promote balance.
Ingredients
½ cup cacao powder
1 avocado
¼ cup maple syrup
½ teaspoon cardamom
¼ teaspoon ginger
Pinch of pink salt
¼ cup almond milk, give or take for consistency
Vanilla extract (optional add-in)
Garnish: Oat whipped topping or coconut cream topping (optional)
Scoop avocado from peel and place in blender.
Add cacao powder, spices, maple syrup, salt and almond milk (plus 1 teaspoon vanilla extract if using).
Blend on high to combine. You may have to stop halfway, scrape the sides, and blend once more until smooth consistency is formed.
Serving suggestion: add oat whipped topping on top (Nature’s Charm Oat Whipped Topping found in natural food stores or some grocery stores.)
You can also try making your own by placing a can of full-fat coconut cream in the refrigerator over night. Scoop out the coconut “meat” (omit the liquid) and blend with a hand blender on high until whipped topping forms.
