PHOEBE WERNER

FITNESS FACULTY

Phoebe is a first-year Doctor of Physical Therapy student at Boston University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she also earned certificates in Health and Humanities, as well as Pilates.

Phoebe was first introduced to Pilates by her grandfather, who became a dedicated practitioner during his stroke rehabilitation. Witnessing the profound impact the practice had on his recovery—and experiencing its benefits herself—sparked her passion to teach and share Pilates as a tool for holistic health and healing.

She completed a 2.5-year comprehensive classical Pilates training through UW–Madison and earned her national certification through the NPCP in 2024. Phoebe has taught at both classical and contemporary studios, including SPRING–Pilates for Life and Club Pilates, and brings a well-rounded, inclusive approach to her classes.

Rooted in Classical Pilates, Phoebe’s teaching style weaves in contemporary elements to promote functional movement, offer progressions and regressions, and ensure accessibility for students of all levels. She emphasizes anatomical cueing, breathwork, and mind-body awareness to help students build strength, deepen understanding, and connect more intentionally with their movement.

Phoebe is passionate about bridging the gap between rehabilitative care and restorative exercise and hopes to integrate Pilates into her future work as a physical therapist. Her classes aim to cultivate both physical empowerment and mental grounding in a supportive, educational environment.

Outside the studio, Phoebe enjoys spending time outdoors, going to indie/alternative rock concerts, and curling up with a good book and cup of tea. New to Boston, she’s excited to be part of the Down Under community—and is always open to local recommendations!
