STEPHANIE ZOPF
PILATES FACULTY
With a background as impressive as her teaching, Stephanie brings an analytical and compassionate approach to the Pilates studio. She holds a BS/MS in Chemical Engineering from Columbia and Tufts Universities, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University, where her research focused on 3D printable conductive inks for stretchable electronics. Her career has included work in textile and electronics research with the U.S. Army and printer development with HP—proof of her deep curiosity about how things function and fit together, a mindset that naturally translates to her movement practice.
Stephanie discovered Pilates as a cross-training method while competing in International Latin Ballroom dance. After becoming a mother, she turned to Pilates more seriously as a way to reconnect with and strengthen her body. The precision, structure, and mind-body connection of the practice resonated deeply with her problem-solving nature, ultimately inspiring her to pursue teacher training. In 2018, she earned her 500-hour comprehensive Pilates certification in San Diego and has been teaching ever since in both private and group settings.
Stephanie’s style is rooted in contemporary Pilates, with an emphasis on form, alignment, and empowering students to move in a way that’s both safe and effective for their unique bodies. She welcomes all experience levels and encourages modifications to make movement feel both accessible and successful. She is also TRX certified and incorporates strength-based approaches into her classes for those seeking more athletic conditioning.
Outside the studio, Stephanie loves running races, spending time with her husband and two children, and feeding her lifelong passion for dance—especially hip hop choreography. Whether you’re a Pilates regular or brand new to the reformer, Stephanie’s classes offer a thoughtful, supportive space to feel stronger, more confident, and deeply connected to your body.
