NEENA MCILWAINE

MARKETING MANAGER • AYURVEDA FACULTY

Neena's exquisite design aesthetic underpins the elegance of Down Under's website, email campaigns, interior signage and digital advertising. Despite her scientific background with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and Environmental Studios from Ohio University, and an early career as a science educator and conservatory butterfly & bird assistant, Neena still pursued other passions in website design, writing, and interior design.

Neena is also a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor and upon completing her 615 hour studies in nutritional counseling and the diet and lifestyle curriculum of Ayurveda, Neena was hired as the social media manager for Down Under's Ayurvedic programming. Excelling in this role, she soon assumed social media content creation for all of Down Under and was promoted in 2022 to the full time role of Creative Marketing Manager. Neena manages all of Down Under email communications, website, reviews, digital advertising and the look and feel of Down Under's physical studios.

Neena’s dream was to become a wildlife veterinarian helping to save marine mammals from loose fishing gear and support their feeding grounds by helping create marine sanctuaries. As this path unfolded, she realized her deeper desires were to help people find appreciation and interconnectedness of human life and the natural world.

She then found Ayurveda and felt deeply connected to the principles of living in harmony with the rhythms of nature. By bringing awareness to what she consumes physically and emotionally, she found a connection to the natural world and her everyday experience. As she began sharing Ayurveda and plant-based nutrition on her own personal online platforms, she received great support to further her path in the direction of educating and inspiring others to enjoy the individuality of Ayurveda’s approach to your own body's composition and its emphasis on the impact of seasons, environment, and diet on your health.

Neena spends her time soaking in the South Boston beaches, enjoying the bountiful landscapes of New England camping and hiking, and spending time with her one-eyed tabby cat and 4ft ball python.
