HÉLOÏSE DARCQ

IYENGAR FACULTY

The words “Profound, Intelligent, Transformative” on the website of the Iyengar Institute of New York resonated with Heloise’s heart and brought her in. She remembers thinking after her first class: “I am going to do this for the rest of my life.”

Originally from France, Héloïse encountered Iyengar Yoga in New York when working as a producer with performance artists in her early twenties. Although she knew nothing about Yoga or the Iyengar method, she attended her first Iyengar class out of genuine curiosity. The years of study and practice of Iyengar Yoga led Héloïse not only to develop and gain insights on the physical level but also informed her growth and transformation on the multiple dimensions of her human experience. She completed her Teacher Training at the Iyengar Institute of New York led by James Murphy, whose approach to teaching and reverence for the methodology of B.K.S. Iyengar left a lifelong imprint on her. Now in Boston, she joins a beautiful Iyengar community and is immensely grateful for the guidance of her teachers and mentors Peentz Dubble, Nadja Refaie, and Patricia Walden.  After ten years of study, Héloïse is an Iyengar Yoga Teacher certified at the Intro 1-2 level. She dedicates her time to teaching Yoga and French to children, adults, and seniors. Her intention as an Iyengar Yoga teacher is to create a space and time for everyone and anyone to explore how Yoga can support them in maintaining a healthy body, a mind of clarity, and a joyful, benevolent heart.
