Full Body Myofascial Release with Dina Abbondante

Myofasical Release (MFR) is explored through a guided series of bodywork techniques and Yoga stretches to unravel tight and tender muscles and encourage fuller range of motion for the joints. Our self-care practice is accessed with a variety of props, including 2 tennis or massage therapy balls, blanket, foam roller and yoga block. Once learned, MFR can be explored on own and as needed.

New and seasoned students will benefit equally, as we focus on locating and opening common discomfort regions that often lead to tension headaches, TMJ syndrome, upper back and neck tension, low back pain, hip tightness, IT band restrictions, forearm tightness and more. We will begin our sequence at the feet and work our way through the body landscape to the neck and head.

As a result of our site specific work, the connective tissues and muscles have time to relax and unwind, joints move with greater balance, and body tensions are released for lasting results. In a more subtle way, Myofascial release also soothes the nervous system, which transitions the body into a restful state and helps to imprint the techniques more completely.

All are welcome to attend. If you are pregnant, practices will be adapted to your current trimester. If you have a medical condition, please receive guidance from your medical care provider before attending the workshop.

Required Props: 2 tennis or massage therapy balls, yoga block, blanket, water, comfortable layered clothing.
