SAM MOORE

ALIGN FACULTY

Sam’s classes center students, helping them find more moments of presence, while empowering them to approach practice—and life—with curiosity and intention.

His teaching emphasizes thoughtful alignment as a tool for cultivating awareness and quieting the mind, inviting students to focus on the subtleties of their practice. Sam’s classes are intentionally paced, physically challenging, and designed to foster both strength and introspection. Hands-on assists are an integral part of his teaching, offering guidance and support.

Sam’s extensive training and studies include Iyengar yoga with Patricia Walden, Judith Hanson Lasater’s renowned restorative yoga training, an ongoing mentorship with Natasha Rizopoulos, and over 500 hours of training through Down Under School of Yoga.

Sam’s journey with yoga began as a way to counter the effects of his sedentary desk job as a software engineer—poor posture, neck pain, and stress. What started as a predominantly physical practice soon evolved into a lifestyle of mindfulness, and self-discovery. For Sam, the yoga mat serves as a metaphor for life, offering a safe space to embrace discomfort and challenge while cultivating focus, presence, and equanimity.

As a classically trained cellist, Sam also brings a unique perspective to his practice, blending precision with creativity. Outside of yoga, he enjoys living in Cambridge with his cat and playing music.
