KAVERI BARROS
AYURVEDA FACULTY
Kaveri Barros is an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Kripalu-trained yoga teacher, spiritual counselor, and grief coach who weaves together the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with yoga, meditation, and contemporary understandings of health and wellbeing. Her work is rooted in a simple belief: true healing happens when we learn to care for the whole person, body, mind, and spirit.
Kaveri began her professional career in the sciences, earning her BS in Medical Laboratory Science from Northeastern University and working as a Clinical Microbiologist in hospital settings in Boston and Phoenix. She later transitioned into biotechnology, where she worked as a Support Engineer managing the needs of both customers and colleagues. Her years in clinical science and the corporate world gave her a deep appreciation for evidence, systems, and service, while also revealing a longing for work that felt more deeply connected to her purpose.
Her own exploration of fertility, health, and wellbeing eventually led her to yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda. What began as a personal journey became a profound spiritual path. She studied Ayurveda and yoga at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in the Berkshires and became a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor and Kripalu 200-hour yoga teacher. She was later invited to join the Kripalu Healing Arts Department, where she continues to work with clients through Ayurvedic consultations and holistic healing.
For nearly a decade, Kaveri has supported people through the many seasons and transitions of life. Her work includes Ayurvedic health counseling, spiritual counseling, grief coaching, women's health, stress and burnout, digestive health, sleep, seasonal living, and the cultivation of greater self-awareness and connection. She also teaches Ayurveda through workshops, courses, and retreats, sharing these ancient teachings in a way that is practical, accessible, and deeply human.
Born in Mumbai and raised in the United States, Kaveri carries a deep connection to her Indian heritage and the Vedic traditions that have become central to her life and work. Her relationship with Ayurveda extends beyond a professional practice; it is a way of understanding life, nature, consciousness, and the sacred rhythms of change.
Kaveri currently works with clients privately and through Kripalu and Down Under Yoga in Boston. She splits her time between Boston and the Berkshires and the Hudson Valley, where she finds inspiration in nature, cooking, yoga, meditation, travel, and the continual unfolding of life itself.
