JOE DASILVA

VINYASA FACULTY
Calm the breath and the mind will follow.
Joe was born in Boston then grew up in a small village in Portugal, where in his teens he practiced gymnastics and started a journey into martial arts. Over the span of two decades Joe studied Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate then Tae Kwon Do, instilling a sense of discipline, self-control and honor that would serve him to this day.
In 2007, Joe was introduced to Yoga as a weekly “stretching’ exercise as part of a workout regimen. After almost 8 years, Joe finally realized that there was more to yoga than just stretching and decided to dive deeper into the ancient practice. Yoga provided a conduit to the self that allowed Joe to experience what felt like true presence for the first time, allowing him to tap into an inner strength and courage that helped him find the light amidst the darkness of self-doubt and anxiety which he has experienced since his youth.
In 2017, Joe completed his first power yoga teacher training with the hope of sharing his new-found light with anyone along their own journey of transformation. Then he completed his 300-hour training at Down Under School of Yoga in 2019. Joe is passionate about encouraging students on their path of self-discovery through an exploration of curiosity with fun, challenging and breath based vinyasa flows using captivating music, humor and positive energy. Joe’s teaching style is a fusion of traditional asana, modernized flow, breathwork and functional mobility. Joe’s practice and teaching continue to be inspired and influenced by Natasha Rizopoulos, Dylan Werner, Seane Corn and Maureen Giese.
