SCOTT SATINOVER

VINYASA FACULTY

Scott is a yoga teacher whose journey into the practice began during a pivotal and uncertain chapter of his life.

While pursuing his PhD in Energy Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Scott discovered yoga as a powerful antidote to anxiety and overwhelm. That first class—taken almost on a whim in 2017—offered an unexpected sense of peace that would eventually inspire a deep and lasting commitment to the practice.

Scott holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a PhD from the University of Tennessee. By day, he works as a full-time technical writer for an engineering software company in the Boston area. Yoga, which he considers his second profession, serves as a necessary counterbalance to his analytical career—a yin to his yang.

In 2021, Scott completed his RYT-200 certification at Evolve Nutrition and Yoga in Knoxville, a Baptiste-inspired program that emphasized self-inquiry and authenticity. Since then, he has taught a wide variety of classes at local studios, corporate settings, and community pop-ups. His teaching style reflects a thoughtful synthesis of influences—from Baptiste methodology to the unique approaches of teachers he continues to study with, including those at Down Under.

Scott’s classes aim to ground students in the present moment and encourage them to meet intentional challenge with resilience. His hope is that students leave feeling clearer, lighter, and more at ease—physically and mentally. Whether it’s shaking off mental chatter or simply breathing a little deeper, Scott creates space for students to reconnect with themselves.

Outside the studio, Scott is an avid cook and food enthusiast. He’s co-authored a cookbook with his brother, a restaurant owner in Chicago, and loves hosting dinner parties to share his culinary creations.
